n 11 communities across La Gonâve, St. Francis’ team of leaders work hard to remove barriers to building a better island. In Anse-a-Galets, theProfessional Training Center of St. Francis of Assisi (PTCSFA) instructs around 70 students each year in a chosen trade. Lead by Madame Nerline, the center provides the skills needed to find better jobs, or start a business. Culinary arts, restaurant, bar and banquet service, flower arranging, fashion, sewing, and cosmetology are all paths to a new future.
