Despite the worsening political and security situation on the mainland last week, La Gonâve will try to celebrate Kanaval (Fr. “Carnaval”) as usual. It is a national holiday- schools are closed for the week. We don’t how or if Port au Prince will be able to celebrate this year, but clearly the party will go on in the heart of Haiti.
