Music–a universal language that transcends borders. On La Gonâve, it serves as a powerful form of expression and a valuable educational resource. Unfortunately, music education is rare on the island. The high costs of instruments and the absence of music programs in most schools make learning an instrument a rarity.
St. Trinite Music School, located on the mainland in Port-au-Prince, began a satellite music program at St. Francis in the Fall of 2024. Students receive instruction on string, brass, and wind instruments. The kids learn technical skills, build camaraderie, and gain confidence.
