Lagonave Haiti Partnership Conference

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will host the Lagonave Haiti Partnership Conference on July 26-27, 2013.

Haitian guest speakers will include the Episcopal Priest-in-Charge of La Gonave, Rev. P. Vil Jean Mardoché, and Episcopal Church of Haiti Partnership Program Coordinator, Rev. Dr. P Kesner Ajax who has just published his first book entitled, A Pastoral Response to Haitian Vodou.  In addition to giving the participants their vision for the partnership work and funding, the Rev. Vil will report on the status of the health care, education (schools and adult), water and sanitation health, safe drinking water, microbusiness, agriculture/goats, and other areas of general well being of the communities served by churches in the partnership.

Suzzette Goss-Geffrard, our new Presbyterian Church (USA) liaison to Haiti will speak about the relationship of the partnership to the PC(USA).

Members of churches in the partnership will form panels to join Pere Vil in presenting the view from the American partners on the status of the various projects.

Conference participants will have an opportunity to join in small group discussions for the purpose of learning from each other and planning for future projects individually or collectively.
